About Us

Friends of Corpus Christi Hall is a volunteer group whose focus is helping to ensure that Corpus Christi Parish Hall returns to community use.

The hall, since it’s construction in the 1960’s, has been used by a huge variety of groups including but not limited to: dancing, music, history, art, play groups, indoor bowling, Ladies Club, Garda Clinic, Zumba, slimming clubs, Mother & Baby groups, Meals on Wheels, Youth Clubs, and film night.

Corpus Christi Girls National School also made extensive use of the hall for activities such as: assemblies, physical education, seasonal events, quizzes, Parents Association events, gym displays, and talent shows. The hall is a key amenity for the school especially in light of the Department of Education’s policy of widening girls’ participation in sport.

The hall was also used by a popular local Montessori for the past 28 years.

In 2020 the Church informed the Montessori that there were fire safety concerns with the premises. In spite of lengthy negotiations and a legal case between the Church and the Montessori no solution to keep the hall open could be reached. All other users of the hall had ceased using the hall at this point due to COVID restrictions.

The hall is currently vacant.

Friends of Corpus Christi Hall will work to ensure that the hall is reopened as the invaluable community resource it once was. A draft terms of reference for the group outline the aims of the group in a bit more detail.
