Our recent communications with the Department of Education have revealed that discussions have commenced between the Diocese and the Department of Education for the hall to be divested to the Department of Education.
The intent is to provide general purpose space (e.g. physical education, assembly, etc.) and a special educational needs classroom for Corpus Christi Girls National School. No decision has been made on how the overall school space will be configured e.g. which spaces will be in which buildings.
Our campaign fully welcomes this development with the provision of much needed space for Corpus Christi school. In November, members of our group met with Minister Norma Foley TD to discuss out of hours use of the Hall for the community.
Our work therefore is not complete and the campaign will be ongoing until the Hall is secured for both the school and community.
